IHC to take up Gill’s plea against detention

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday fixed for September 14 (Wednesday) the hearing of a petition moved by Shahbaz Gill, chief of staff to former prime minister Imran Khan, challenging his detention in a sedition case.

As per the court’s previous cause list, Gill’s petition was set for a hearing Friday but the bench could not take it up due to the appearance of the prime minister in the missing persons’ case.

The registrar of the high court Saturday issued a new cause list fixing the hearing on Wednesday. Chief Justice Athar Minallah will hear the case.

The court has also issued a notice to the prosecution seeking a reply to Gill’s petition.
