Govt allocates 40pc of new Peshawar City for residential area

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government said that 40 percent of New Peshawar Valley will consist of residential area. “The world’s largest” Khyber Park will be built in the valley, while more than two thousand kanals of land will be allocated for the cemetery.

According to the master plan, the New Peshawar Valley will also include a golf course, Gandhara Museum, Education and Health Cities. This mega housing scheme will spread over an area of 16,415 kanals land of which 40% of the land is allocated for residential areas, i.e. 42,816 kanals, as well as 5,92 kanals for commercial, 7,323 kanals for public places, 17,383 kanals for parks and recreational areas, 830 kanals for dumping site, 2,153 kanals for cemetery, 515 kanals for other essential places and 30,299 kanals of land will be allocated for roads and parking.

There will be a total of 63,444 plots, of which 16,539 are 5 marla, 15,602 three marla, 15,475 one kanal, 11,286 ten marla, 2,977 seven marla, 977 two kanal and 565 four kanal.

According to the master plan, the world’s largest Khyber Park will be built over 8,000 kanals of land, including a 9-hole golf course over 721 kanals of land, a culture village on 374 kanals of land, a canal on 96 kanals of land, Gandhara Museum on 50 kanals of land, and a theme park on 493 kanals of land, adventure arena over 450 kanals of land and circulation and tracks over 417 kanals of land.

The New Peshawar Valley will house Diplomatic Enclave, Provincial Assembly and Secretariat, Administrative Offices, Police Headquarters and Media Enclave as well as Sports City, Education and Health City, Jamia Masjid and Arts Council.
