SWAT: Country Director of Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA) Muhsin Balci on Friday called on Malakand Division Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai and discussed various matters of mutual interest.
Swat Deputy Commissioner Junaid Khan, Chief Executive Officer Water and Sanitation Company Engineer Sheeda Muhammad, and other officers were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, development of Swat and support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency in various projects of public interest were discussed. They TiKA country director and the commissioner also discussed shortage of clean drinking water due to climatic changes in Swat district, shortage of electricity due to a reduction in energy sources, and difficulties in getting employment for residents of these backward areas, especially transgenders.
On the occasion, Muhsin Balci agreed to look for ways to provide support for the development of Swat and said that TiKA is interested in providing support for the Mingora Gravity Water Scheme, solarization, and provision of scientific research equipment to Mingora Degree College, and establishment of a vocational training institute for transgenders.
During the visit, TiKA Country Director Muhsin Balci also visited Mingora city. It is important to mention here TiKA country director Muhsin Balci visited Swat on the invitation of Malakand Division Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai. It was decided in the meeting that a technical team of TiKA will also visit Swat to proceed further on the proposed projects.
