Bad blood, incidents claim woman among six lives

SWAT: Six persons including a woman died and four others sustained injuries in different incidents in Swat District.

According to the Madyan police, a man gunned down his brother over a domestic dispute in Tirat village.

“The accused identified as: Laiq Zada shot dead his younger on the spot,” said the Madyan police, adding that the accused fled the scene after the crime.

The police have registered a case against the culprit and launched a hunt to arrest him.

In another incident, a young man identified as Zafar Ali died on the spot after slipping off a high rock and falling down in Laikot village in Bahrain Tehsil. Similarly, a man died on the spot while four others got severely injured after a fight broke out between two groups over children’s dispute in Patanay area of Mingora City.

According to Mingora police, Shaukat Ali from one group was killed in the firing while his brother Wali Khan and father Khizawar were injured. From the other group, two persons – Gul and Nizamuddin also sustained gunshot wounds.

The dead body and injured were shifted to Saidu Teaching Hospital while the police have registered a case against both the groups.

Meanwhile, the dead body of a 12-year-old boy was recovered from Swat River at Shamozai area in Barikot Tehsil who had drowned five days ago.

A social activist and diver Hilal Ahmad recovered the dead body after a five-day continuous search operation.

The dead body was shifted to Civil Hospital Barikot.

According to Banr police, the dead body of an identified woman was found in Swat River near Kanju Bridge. The Rescue 1122 team shifted the body to Saidu Sharif Teaching Hospital for post-mortem.

Similarly, according to Barikot police, Azizur Rehman who was a market watchman committed suicide by shooting self over unknown reasons.

The Ghalegay police have registered a report and started an investigation into the matter.
