APHC-AJK stages protest in Islamabad condemning Yasin Malik’s life sentence

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter held a protest demonstration in front of Faisal Masjid in Islamabad, today, against the sentencing of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Mohammad Yasin Malik to life imprisonment by an Indian court.

The protesters were holding banners and placards with slogans against India and in favour of freedom and Yasin Malik. They were also chanting high-pitched slogans against the Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The Hurriyat leaders, addressing on the occasion paid rich tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs and reiterated the pledge to continue freedom movement till it reached its logical conclusion. They also strongly condemned day to day cordon and search operations in the occupied territory in which innocent Kashmiris, particularly youth, are being killed by Indian forces’ personnel.

They maintained that India could not break the will of Kashmiris by extra-judicial killings, convicting Hurriyat leaders and booking them under draconian laws. They said that India was attempting to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle for securing their right to self-determination but would never succeed in its sinister designs. India is also trying to turn the Muslim majority of IIOJK into a minority as it is settling non-Kashmiri people in the territory, they deplored.

The Hurriyat leaders demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Kashmiris including Hurriyat leaders and activists languishing in different jails of India and IIOJK.
