China urges parties in Pakistan to uphold uplift, stability

BEIJING: China has said that all parties in Pakistan can stay united and uphold national development and stability.

This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Zhao Lijian while responding to a question during a briefing in Beijing about the current political situation in Pakistan.

Zhao Lijian said China always follows the principle of non-interference in other countries’ domestic affairs. Terming China and Pakistan as all-weather strategic cooperative partners, Lijian said China and Pakistan relations will always stand unbreakable and rock firm.

“History has proven once again that no matter how the international landscape may evolve, how our respective domestic situations may change, China and Pakistan relations will always stand unbreakable and rock firm,” he added.

He expressed hope that China-Pakistan overall cooperation and China Pakistan Economic Corridor construction will not be affected by political situation in Pakistan.

China calls for facts of Bucha incident to be verified, ascertained

Responding to a question about reports showed that many civilians have been killed in the Ukrainian town of Bucha, Zhao Lijian said China attaches great importance to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and is highly concerned with the harm to civilians.

“We have put forward a six-point initiative on alleviating the humanitarian situation and taken concrete steps to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. The reports and images of civilian deaths in Bucha are deeply disturbing,” he said.

He added that the relevant circumstances and specific causes of the incident must be verified and ascertained.

“Humanitarian issues shouldn’t be politicized. Any accusations should be based on facts. Before the full picture is clear, all sides should exercise restraint and avoid unfounded accusations. China supports all initiatives and measures conducive to alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and stands ready to continue working with the international community to prevent harm to civilians,” he concluded.
