PM to meet PML-Q leadership soon: report

Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet PML-Q’s leadership during his day-long visit to Lahore, Geo News reported on Monday.

According to the report, Imran Khan will listen to the concerns of PML-Q – which is an ally of the government – and try to retain their support.

Moreover, he would meet Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, and provincial cabinet members and lawmakers.

The decision to meet PML-Q leaders was made last week after several opposition leaders held meetings with them in order to take them on board for their no-confidence motion against the premier.

Imran would also chair a meeting of the Punjab parliamentary board, the report said, adding that important decisions regarding local body elections will be taken during the meeting.

Shehbaz, Fazl agree to rev up anti-govt drive:

On the other hand, PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and PDM Chief Fazl ur Rehman made a telephonic contact, decided to step up the anti-government drive to oust Imran Khan and discussed the contacts between opposition members and government allies.

They also exchanged views on the recommendations forwarded by the committee
formed on the no-confidence motion.

Both Shehbaz and Fazl decided to meet in Islamabad in a few days to take a final decision on the no-trust move and other issues.
