Maryam Nawaz suspends political activities for two weeks

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Thursday announced to suspending political activities for the next two weeks owing to her son’s upcoming wedding reception, the party spokesperson said.

The wedding reception is being held in Lahore following a lavish Nikkah ceremony of Muhammad Junaid in London in August this year. The reception of the son of Maryam Nawaz is likely to take place on December 17.

PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a statement that Maryam will not be able to take part in political activities due to the family engagements.

The highly-anticipated Nikkah ceremony of Junaid was held with full pomp and show in London on August 22. He tied the knot with Ayesha Saif Khan at The Lanesborough, an elite five-star hotel on the Hyde Park Corner in Knightsbridge. Ayesha is the daughter of the PML-N chief’s close aide and former chairman of Ahtasab Commission, Saifur Rahman.
