Fawad Ch says Opposition’s anti-govt movements are to ‘stay relative in news’

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday jeered at opposition parties by calling their movement against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government “merely an effort to stay relevant in the news”.

“They don’t have any leaders, nor do they have any programmes,” Fawad said.

While adding that the opposition parties in Pakistan are an “unholy alliance”, with some divided into groups of one and others intro three.

He went on to call PTI the “only federal party” and added that “The only national political party is the PTI, whose agenda is the national agenda”

The information minister maintained that their movement against  (PTI) was nothing more than an attempt to stay relevant.

It is pertinent to note that the minister’s statement comes a day after the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) – an alliance of opposition parties – announced that it would stage a series of rallies in the provincial capitals and finally a long march from Lahore to Islamabad against the PTI-led government for its anti-people policies and the rising inflation.

“A protest will be held in Karachi on November 13, followed by one in Quetta on November 17 and in Peshawar on November 20,” read a statement issued following the meeting.
