After meeting with PM Khan, Jam Kamal emerges confident

CM Balochistan says no-trust move will fail

After meeting Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal expressed faith that no-confidence motion filed against him by his own party members would fail.

Jam Kamal met PM Imran Khan at the PM office in Islamabad on Thursday, to discuss the situation in Balochistan, after the disgruntled lawmakers of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) submitted a no-trust motion against the CM in the provincial assembly secretariat.

It is to note that the motion was signed by 14 disgruntled members of the BAP and allied parties.

After his meeting with the PM, Jamal Kamal while speaking to the media revealed that the no-confidence motion against him will not succeed. “It will be good if voting is held [on the motion] so that the situation becomes clear,” he said.

He went on to reveal that the voting would take place in the next 3-4 days.

Jam Kamal further revealed that he has discussed the development schemes in Balochistan with the PM. He stated that Prime Minister Imran said that Balochistan’s progress was among the federal government’s top priorities.

It is pertinent to note that the political crisis in Balochistan gained momentum when Chief Minister Alyani denied that he had resigned as the BAP president.

Following the announcement by the CM, the BAP secretary general had appointed Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi as acting president till intra-party elections.

On that, Jam Kamal wrote a letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan, stating that the appointment of an acting president had “no constitutional or legal value”.
