Social media abuzz with birthday wishes for PM Imran

Scores of people on Tuesday wished Prime Minister Imran Khan on social media for his 69th birthday.

Social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, were abuzz with wishes for the prime minister as HappyBirthdayPMIK quickly became one of the top trends in the country.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) wished Imran by terming him as a match-winning all-rounder and a world cup-winning captain.

The PCB also shared a post to recall the records broken by the PM during his days as a cricketer. It wrote on Twitter, “3,807 runs and 362 wickets in Tests, 3,709 runs and 182 wickets in ODIs, the third leading wicket-taker for Pakistan in Tests.”

Many social media users shared messages of good health, happiness and long life of the incumbent premier, who is followed by millions of fans across all social media accounts.

Born on October 5, 1952 in Lahore, Imran secured his education from prestigious educational institutions such as the Aitchison College, the Royal Grammar School and the Oxford University.

The greatest triumph of his life came in 1992, when he won the One-Day International Cricket World Cup for Pakistan in Australia.
