PM takes PTI, allied parties lawmakers into confidence on electoral reforms

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Wednesday took the lawmakers of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its allied parties on the key legislation including the electoral reforms.

A meeting of the Parliamentary Party of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its allied parties was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan. The participants were briefed on Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) and Criminal Justice System Reforms.

According to a sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan took the MPs into confidence regarding the government’s measures. According to sources, he spoke on electoral reforms including EVM machine and directed the MPs to ensure their attendance in the House.

The Prime Minister said that free and fair elections have always been needed in the country, transparent elections are the most important for any democracy.

“We have reviewed the best initiatives in the world, and we will now complete the law reforms,” ​​he said.

Imran Khan further said that if a crime is committed against the poor, he thinks that he will not get justice, new reforms will have to be introduced from registration of FIR to investigation.
