NCOC daily update: 2,512 new Covid-19 cases, 63 more deaths

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 2,512 new Covid-19 cases and 63 more deaths over the past 24 hours, the National Command and Operation Centre said on Saturday.

The national tally of total active Covid-19 cases fell to 64,564 on Saturday as 3,610 people made full recovery in the last 24 hours, said the NCOC, a department leading campaign against the pandemic.

The number of overall confirmed cases rose to 1,221,261, said the NCOC.

According to the NCOC, more than 57,000 tests were conducted across the country on Friday.

The coronavirus positivity rate in the last 24 hours was recorded at 4.4 percent. Among the active cases, 5,117 patients are under critical care.

Sindh has been the worst hit, with a total of 449,349 cases, followed by Punjab where the disease was detected in 420,615 people.

A total of 27,135 people have died of the disease, including 63 patients who died over the last 24 hours, the NCOC said.
