All public, private schools of Punjab to remain closed till Sept 15: Murad Raas

LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Dr Murad Raas on Friday has announced that all public and private schools of Punjab will remain closed until Wednesday (September 15, 2021) due to increasing cases of coronavirus.

The announcement was made by the provincial minister in a post on social-networking website Twitter.

Earlier, National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had decided to extend the closure of all educational institutions till September 15 in the 24 high disease districts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and federal capital.

According to a statement shared through the NCOC’s official Twitter handle, the decision was taken in view of ongoing trends of disease. However, a review will be carried out in the NCOC’s next meeting, scheduled for September 15.

As per NCOC, there would be a complete ban on indoor wedding ceremonies.

In addition to this, intercity public transport was also banned in the cities having a high percentage of coronavirus cases.
