Court bins petition to book TikTok actor, partner on ‘conspiracy’ charges

LAHORE: A district and sessions court in Lahore on Thursday dismissed a petition seeking registration of a police case against a female TikTok actor and her partner who were purportedly assaulted by a crowd at Greater Iqbal Park on the eve of Independence Day.

The application — filed by a local — was dismissed over the complainant’s failure to pursue it.

The request claimed the duo went to the site with a pre-decided plan to engage in a public brawl to attract coverage.

The complainant said when he approached the police station to register a case against the two, the police refused to do so, pleading with the court to order the registration of the case.

Last month, police opened cases against hundreds of unidentified men after Ayesha Akram was assaulted and purportedly groped by a crowd of more than 400 men in the park as she made a TikTok video.

The shocking assault was captured on several videos, which went viral and showed a mob descend on the woman.

Akram registered a case against 300 to 400 unidentified persons with Lahore police, according to the case report.
