Govt to obtain info from Broadsheet about Nawaz’s assets: SAPM Gill

Says leaders of opposition parties are trying to escape from accountability

LAHORE: Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill has said that the government will write a letter to Broadsheet, a UK-based law firm, to gain more insight about the assets of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif.

Talking to the media on Saturday, Gill said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically stated that no national reconciliation ordinance (NRO) will be given to the opposition parties for looting the national exchequer.

He said that leaders of the opposition parties are making a hue and cry over non-issues and trying to escape from accountability, adding the efforts are also being made by the opposition parties to file a baseless lawsuit against him.

“The PML-N is distorting facts regarding the Broadsheet revelations to prove party supremo Nawaz Sharif innocent. The revelations are an addition in the record of PML-N’s corruption. The investigations of Broadsheet were earlier halted due to NRO. The nation’s money was given as compensation, as interrogations were stopped,” he concluded.
