ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday directed troops stationed at Balochistan to provide all-out assistance to civil administration in rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts being carried out in the earthquake-hit towns of the province.

The army chief directed the officials to help mitigate difficulties faced by the affected population, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) media statement.

The military was deployed to the earthquake area to airlift dozens of injured from mountain peaks. At least nine critically injured people were taken to the provincial hospital in Quetta.
