LAHORE: Metro bus service in Lahore remained suspended for a second consecutive day on Sunday due to a protest of its employees over the non-payment of dues.
Staffers and drivers of the buses have been protesting since Saturday over the nonpayment of bonuses, gratuity and a demand for experience certificates.
Residents of the city are facing problems while commuting due to the suspension of the service.
In a similar incident last week, the drivers staged a sit-in at the Gajjumata Metrobus Depot in protest, resulting in the suspension of the service.
The largest mode of public transport in the provincial capital, metro buses carry more than 100,000 people daily to densely populated neighbourhoods and industrial zones located along its 27 kilometres long track.
