Punjab bans establishment of housing schemes on greenbelts

LAHORE: The Punjab government on Tuesday stopped the deputy commissioners from issuing no-objection certificates to housing societies seeking to build structures on greenbelts.

Through a communique, Chief Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik conveyed the policy change to all deputy commissioners.

The Punjab government has decided that no housing society will be built on greenbelts, and they could only be built in the residential areas.
