CAIRO/ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty, on Sunday jointly called on Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in Cairo.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister conveyed warm greetings and best wishes of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to President El-Sisi, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its longstanding, brotherly and multifaceted relations with Egypt.

He noted with appreciation the positive momentum generated through recent high-level exchanges between Pakistan and Egypt, which have helped deepen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
The Deputy Prime Minister also welcomed President El-Sisi’s acceptance of the Prime Minister’s invitation to visit Pakistan and expressed hope that reciprocal leadership visits between the two countries would take place at the earliest mutually convenient opportunity.
The meeting provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on regional and international developments, particularly the evolving situation in the Middle East, with emphasis on advancing peace, stability, dialogue and diplomatic engagement across the region.
President El-Sisi reciprocated the greetings and best wishes conveyed by Pakistan’s leadership and appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting dialogue, de-escalation and diplomatic engagement in the region. He also commended the contributions of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, and the Chief of Army Staff towards regional peace and stability, expressing hope that ongoing efforts and the next phase of negotiations would contribute to lasting peace, security and prosperity across the wider region.
The meeting also reviewed consultations held among the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye under the R-4 framework. The leaders underscored the growing importance of the platform as a mechanism for structured dialogue, strategic consultation and policy coordination on matters of mutual interest.
They expressed confidence that sustained engagement and collective efforts under the R-4 framework would promote peace, stability, economic development and regional prosperity, while advancing shared interests of their peoples.
The meeting was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting close bonds of friendship and mutual respect among the participating countries.
Dar, Abdelatty review full spectrum of bilateral ties
In a related development, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar held a meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty on the sidelines of the R-4 meeting, according to the Foreign Office (FO).
In a post on X, the FO said the two ministers reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in Pakistan-Egypt ties. They reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in political, economic, defence, health and pharmaceutical, and multilateral domains, and agreed to reinvigorate existing bilateral mechanisms to enhance collaboration.

Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East. They welcomed the recently reached peace agreement and expressed hope that its effective implementation would contribute to lasting peace, stability and prosperity in the region.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and Egypt to further deepen their close and brotherly relations.
Conclusion of visit and departure for Islamabad
Later, the Deputy Prime Minister departed Cairo for Islamabad after concluding a successful one-day visit to Egypt for the R-4 Regional Foreign Ministers Meeting.

Dar also expressed gratitude on his X account to Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty and the Government of Egypt for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements.

He also thanked Pakistan’s Embassy in Egypt, the ambassador and the embassy team for their support and coordination during the visit, as well as members of his delegation and the Foreign Office for contributing to the success of the trip.
“Departing for Islamabad, with a short layover in Madinah Munawwarah, ahead of busy weeks of engagements,” he added.
