Shehbaz praises Qatar’s backing for Pakistan’s peace efforts
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke by phone with Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister on Saturday and discussed issues of mutual interest. He thanked Doha for backing Pakistan’s peace efforts and said a peace deal could soon be ready for signing.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation on Saturday with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, during which the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest.
During the call, Shehbaz conveyed greetings and good wishes to Qatar’s Amir, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as to the people of Qatar. The Qatari prime minister reciprocated those sentiments during what was described as a warm and cordial exchange.
Shehbaz also thanked Qatar for its strong and steadfast support for Pakistan’s peace efforts during the Gulf crisis. He said a peace agreement was expected to be ready for signing by the relevant parties very soon.
The Qatari prime minister, praised Shehbaz and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their role in advancing the diplomatic effort.
