Dar discusses peace efforts with Swiss, Saudi and Egyptian foreign ministers

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held separate telephone conversations on Saturday with the foreign ministers of Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Egypt to discuss efforts linked to peace in the Middle East, according to a Foreign Office spokesperson.

The spokesperson said Dar spoke with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty. The talks focused on the current diplomatic momentum in the region.

According to the Foreign Office, Dar and his counterparts welcomed what it described as encouraging progress towards an understanding between the United States and Iran. They also expressed hope that the ongoing efforts would help advance peace and stability in the region.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said both sides agreed to remain in close contact.
