Accomplices shoot, injure two suspected criminals

LAHORE: Two suspected robbers were arrested after being injured in separate police encounters in the Shahdara and Ravi Road areas, according to police.

In the first incident, Shahdara police were on routine patrol when they asked three suspicious men to stop. Police said the suspects opened fire, prompting return fire from officers. After the exchange, one of the suspects, identified as Shehroz, was found injured. Investigators said he was hit by gunfire from his own accomplices during the encounter.

Police said preliminary investigations showed that Shehroz had allegedly been involved in robbing citizens after stopping them during the recent Eid holidays.

In the second incident, Ravi Road police tried to stop two men riding a motorcycle without a registration number plate near Batti Chowk. Police said the suspects tried to flee, leading to a chase. During the pursuit, the two men allegedly fired at police, but later lost control of the motorcycle and fell to the ground.
