 SARGODHA: Bringing the Punjab government’s public grievance redressal mechanism directly to citizens, a team from the Punjab Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell held an open court (Khuli Katcheri) at the Arts Council in Sargodha, where hundreds of residents voiced concerns over civic and administrative issues.

Chairperson of the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell, Saima Farooq, personally heard complaints from citizens and issued immediate directions for their resolution. Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali, Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry and District Police Officer (DPO) Sohaib Ashraf were also present.

According to officials, more than 246 citizens submitted complaints pertaining to the revenue department, police, sanitation, health, education and sewerage services. Several issues were resolved on the spot, while more complex cases were referred to the relevant departments for necessary action.

Speaking on the occasion, Saima Farooq said the Complaint Cell was working proactively to provide prompt relief to the public in accordance with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

She said the presence of representatives from multiple departments under one roof had significantly facilitated citizens in seeking solutions to their problems without having to visit various government offices.

She further said that all applications received during the open court would be monitored regularly and that the Complaint Cell team would continue pursuing each case until its resolution.

Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali said public complaints would be addressed in a transparent and merit-based manner, while Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry said timelines had been assigned to the relevant officials for resolving grievances received during the open court.

He added that the district administration remained committed to ensuring the rule of law and providing timely relief to citizens through effective service delivery.
