Husband’s obsession with salt forces woman to taste food while fasting

A recent Ramzan advice video is doing the rounds after a woman asked whether she could taste food while fasting because her husband gets upset if the salt in meals isn’t right.

The question was sent to the Revive Youth organisation, where a female host replied that a fasting person can put food in the mouth to check taste but must not swallow it to appease her husband as that seemed more important than maintaining a proper fast.

The clip immediately sparked reactions online, with many viewers more concerned about the pressure husbands are placing on women than the religious ruling itself.

One user commented, “Why we get the alternative of testing salt instead of guiding those who make rai ka pahar just for namak? Sorry i will not settle for that jahan namak k lie ghr jang ka maidan ban jae.”

Others were shocked at the husband’s behaviour. “Kyu husband kaafir hei kya?” one person asked, while another joked, “theek hai guyz phir main chewgum kha lun q k wo bhi halk se nai guzrta.”

Some online users focused on the religious aspect, noting, “Roza nahi tutega magar makroo ho jayega.”

The viral clip has sparked a wider conversation about the expectations placed on women during Ramzan, with many arguing that mutual understanding in households is far more important than micromanaging meals — even down to the salt.
