A man using the social media handle taha__akram has drawn criticism online after sharing a video in which he is seen handing out and lighting cigarettes for people at iftar, the time Muslims break their fast at sunset during Ramadan.
In the video, several men can be seen lining up while he lights cigarettes for them one after another. It is unclear whether those present had broken their fast with food or drink beforehand. However, the footage gives the impression that he is helping them begin their iftar by smoking.
The video was uploaded by the man himself with a background song and the caption “confirm janati” —implying someone destined for paradise.
The post quickly attracted criticism in the comment section, with several users condemning the act and the decision to share it publicly.
One commenter wrote: “Nabi (SAW) said everyone in my ummah will be forgiven except those who publicise their sins.”
Another said: “Even Shaytan is confused.”
A third wrote bluntly: “Confirm jannumi hai.”
The video has since circulated widely online, prompting debate among viewers about appropriate behaviour during Ramadan and the use of social media to showcase personal conduct during the fasting month.
