Mashal Yousafzai awarded PTI’s Senate ticket for by-election on reserved seat

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued a Senate ticket to Mashal Yousafzai for the by-election on a reserved seat, following the resignation of Sania Nishtar.

The decision to award the ticket to Yousafzai came on the instructions of PTI founder Imran Khan.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar officially announced the move through a notification, which also instructed other party candidates—Sajida Begum, Mumena Basit, Samira Shams, and Saima Khalid—to withdraw their candidacies by July 30.

The by-election for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa women’s Senate seat is set for July 31, with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) confirming the polling schedule. This Senate seat became vacant following the resignation of Sania Nishtar, a member of PTI.
