Police ‘raids’ Hammad Azhar’s Lahore house; two employees, pet dog ‘taken into custody’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former minister Hammad Azhar has claimed that Police raided his residence late at night while only his elderly parents were present.

However, Police did not contradict the claim.

During the operation, he claimed, two of his employees were taken into custody and also Police reportedly stole his pet dog, Sam. The dog in question is a black German shepherd and media reports claim that one officer who was accompanying the raiding party saw the pedigreed dog and decided to take it along.

Hammad Azhar went into hiding after the riots on May 9, 2023, fearing a police crackdown. However, Azhar last week made a public comeback in the federal capital, showing up at PTI’s party’s central secretariat in Islamabad, following a year-long absence from public scene.

Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, recently issued a call to action for all party officials who are now in hiding to come out of hiding and pick up their political activities, which led to Azhar’s homecoming.
