Over 45,000 robbery incidents reported in Karachi in six months

KARACHI: Karachi, the economic hub of Pakistan, is facing a severe crime wave, with the latest report by the Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) revealing over 45,000 incidents of robbery reported within six months, from January 1 to June 30.

Shockingly, more than 70 citizens lost their lives for resisting robberies, and hundreds of others were wounded.

The CPLC report further highlighted that around 300 individuals lost their lives in violent incidents linked to personal animosities and other disputes. This alarming trend emphasizes the urgent need for concrete measures to combat crime in Karachi.

The government must take immediate actions, including increasing the presence of police officers on the streets, enhancing the efficiency of the police force, and implementing strict measures against criminals, the report said.

Equally important, citizens must stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the police, it added.
