HAFIZABAD: Hafizabad Police, in collaboration with Interpol, have successfully arrested a murder suspect after 26 years, following a joint international operation.
Officials confirmed that the Special Operation Cell of Hafizabad Police reached out to Interpol, resulting in the issuance of a red warrant for the accused, which led to his arrest.
The suspect, Ali Muhammad, also known as Shafqat, was apprehended in Muscat, Oman. He was wanted for the 2000 murder of Allah Ditta, a citizen who was killed in a tragic incident 26 years ago. After committing the crime, the suspect fled abroad, evading arrest and remaining beyond the reach of law enforcement agencies for more than two decades.
Police authorities emphasized that the arrest was made possible through careful coordination, intelligence sharing, and strong international cooperation. The District Police Officer (DPO) praised the operation, highlighting the professionalism and dedication of the Hafizabad Police force.
Officials added that this operation reinforces the Hafizabad Police’s ongoing commitment to a strict zero-tolerance policy against criminal activities, ensuring that proclaimed offenders and suspects in serious cases are brought to justice.
