Arms haul in Panjgur disrupts planned terror attacks in Turbat

PANJGUR: Security forces on Monday seized a sizeable cache of weapons and foiled what officials described as a major terrorist plot during an intelligence-driven operation in the Guraku area of Panjgur district.

According to security officials, the raid led to the recovery of 20 hand grenades, five rocket launcher rounds, two M-16 rifles, a suicide vest, 30 demolition slabs and 20 STO. The arsenal was allegedly being transported from Panjgur to Turbat for planned militant attacks.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle, identified as Sajid, a former student at an international university, was taken into custody at the scene. Investigators are examining his suspected links and the intended recipients of the weapons.

Officials said the operation reflects ongoing efforts by security forces to disrupt militant networks and prevent attacks across Balochistan. They added that the seizure underscores the importance of timely intelligence in countering potential threats in the region.
