CHITTAGONG: Pakistan has announced 500 fully funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal scholarships for Bangladeshi students, offering opportunities to pursue higher education at leading universities under the newly promoted Pakistan Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor.
According to official information, the scholarship launch coincided with a series of education expos in Bangladesh, organised by a delegation from Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission and representatives of 15 prominent Pakistani universities. The events were held at Southern University and the University of Chittagong.
At Southern University, founder Prof Dr Sarwar Jahan welcomed the Pakistani delegation. A detailed seminar, attended by Vice Chancellor Dr Sharif Ashrafulzzaman and senior faculty members, outlined eligibility criteria, the application process, student and faculty exchanges, and prospects for collaborative research.
Hundreds of students later visited the expo, engaging directly with representatives from each Pakistani university for information on academic programmes, admissions requirements and scholarship coverage.
A similar exposition was held at the University of Chittagong, inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Yeahia Akhter alongside Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner Muhammad Wasif. The event drew university faculty, local media and a large number of students accompanied by their parents, who received briefings on the educational opportunities available in Pakistan.
