KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday issued notices to the provincial government and law enforcement agencies, seeking their responses in cases involving missing persons. The hearing was overseen by Acting Chief Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput.
During proceedings, a petitioner’s lawyer reported that Saad Alam went missing after visiting a barber near Ferozabad Police Station and has not returned home.
Despite a missing person report filed by his father-in-law, no information about his whereabouts has emerged. When the court inquired whether he might have left voluntarily, the lawyer confirmed that Alam had only gone out for a haircut and his phone has remained switched off.
In a separate case, the lawyer stated that Abdul Subghat, who was released on bail after three years in prison, went missing from the Sohrab Goth area.
The court directed the concerned authorities to conduct searches and submit progress reports within four weeks before adjourning the hearing.
