LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department has refuted claims circulating on social media about a new Saturday holiday for schools, colleges, and universities across the province.
A document dated October 28, 2025, went viral online, stating that all students would receive Saturdays off while teachers and administrative staff would have alternate Saturdays as holidays. The fake notification quickly spread, causing confusion among parents, teachers, and students.
In an official statement, the department confirmed that no such notification had been issued and labelled the circulating document as fake. Officials urged the public to verify information through official government channels before sharing it further.
