The Japanese minister welcomed her as the first woman Chief Minister of Punjab and lauded her development initiatives.

Extending her best wishes for the leadership and people of Japan, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said Pakistan values Japan as a trusted partner and aims to adopt its successful models of development in Punjab. “Japan has become a cradle of economic, technological, and social progress. Alongside material advancement, its respect for human values is exemplary. We want to implement Japan’s development model in Punjab,” she remarked.
The Chief Minister also recalled Japan’s timely support during Pakistan’s natural calamities, especially the devastating 2005 earthquake, and emphasized the need to benefit from Japanese expertise in earthquake-resistant construction and disaster preparedness. “Japan’s assistance in times of crisis has always been unforgettable.
