Google marks Pakistan’s Independence Day with a special doodle

ISLAMABAD: Google commemorated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day on Thursday by featuring a special doodle on its homepage. The doodle, showcasing the country’s green and white flag soaring high with the word “Google” written in the sky, pays tribute to the historic day.

Independence Day, observed annually on August 14, celebrates Pakistan’s independence in 1947. It is a national holiday, marked by patriotic celebrations and various cultural events across the country. Google, known for its creative homepage doodles, frequently highlights significant global dates, cultural moments, and notable events.

The day’s festivities include the main flag-hoisting ceremony at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif unfurled the national flag. Celebrations are taking place nationwide, filled with fervor and patriotic zeal.

In previous years, Google has also released different doodles to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day, each designed to capture the spirit of the occasion.
