ISLAMABAD: Pakistan continues to hold one of the lowest positions in the global passport rankings, securing the fourth spot from the bottom in the latest Henley Passport Index. With the ability to travel visa-free to only 32 countries, Pakistan shares this position with Somalia and Yemen, ranking 96th out of 199 countries.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Singapore retains its position as the world’s most powerful passport, offering visa-free access to 193 countries. Japan and South Korea follow closely, tied for second place with access to 190 countries. Other European nations, including Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Spain, share the third position with visa-free access to 189 countries.
Meanwhile, the United States has slipped to 10th place, a significant drop from its previous position, and experts are concerned it could soon fall out of the top 10 for the first time in the index’s history.
Other countries showing remarkable improvement include the United Arab Emirates, which has risen 34 spots in the last decade to rank 8th, and China, which has made a similar climb, now sitting at 60th. However, Pakistan continues to struggle near the bottom of the list, with only Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan ranked lower.
