Two killed in gunfight over runaway wife in Karachi

KARACHI: A deadly gunfight erupted in Baldia Town’s Mohammad Khan Colony on Wednesday, leaving two men dead and two others injured. The altercation stemmed from a personal dispute involving a woman, Nabeela Bibi, and her former and current husbands. Sang Gul, the woman’s second husband, came from Tank district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, to Karachi in search of Nabeela, who had run away with Saifur Rehman, her third husband.

Sang Gul, accompanied by his nephew Madho and other men, tracked Nabeela to a Pashtun-dominated area in Karachi. The confrontation turned violent when both parties engaged in a gunfight inside a house. As a result, 30-year-old Saifur Rehman and 28-year-old Madho were killed, while Nabeela Bibi and her brother Atiqueur Rehman were seriously injured.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, Ittihad Town police arrived at the scene and shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital. DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that weapons were recovered from the scene, and initial investigations indicate the dispute had been ongoing. The remaining assailants, including Sang Gul, fled the scene. Police have launched a manhunt to apprehend those responsible.
