Imran Khan refuses to accept ‘slavery,’ vows to lead nationwide movement

RAWALPINDI: Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has declared he would rather “rot in jail for life” than submit to what he called “a system of Pharaohs and Yazidiyat,” urging his party to prepare for a nationwide movement.

Speaking through his sister Aleema Khan from Adiala Jail, Imran said, “Whatever torture they inflict, I will never accept slavery.” He emphasized that even if imprisoned for life, he would not surrender and urged the party to shift focus beyond Islamabad for a broader struggle.

Aleema shared three key points from her meeting with Imran, highlighting that he has been denied basic prisoner rights, allowed to speak to his children only once in eight months, and that she and her sisters have been barred from visiting him. She also said his personal doctors are not permitted to examine him, and court orders on contempt petitions are ignored.

Aleema criticized rumors suggesting a deal for Imran’s release, calling them planted stories to calm public sentiment.

Imran’s message to PTI members was clear: the party stands on ideology, not personalities, and anyone not committed to this ideology has no place. He expressed frustration over delayed court hearings related to his cases.

Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed hope for Imran’s release before Eid-ul-Azha, assuring that all legal avenues are being pursued. Senator Shibli Faraz said the acting chief justice of the Islamabad High Court personally assured scheduling of Imran’s petitions this week, warning that blocking justice leads to unrest.

In Lahore, an anti-terrorism court allowed police to conduct photogrammetric and polygraph tests on Imran Khan, ordering results by June 9. Imran has reportedly refused these tests multiple times.
