HEC warns public against scammers using fake websites

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has issued a public alert warning against scammers posing as HEC officials and using fake websites to steal personal and financial information. The commission cautioned citizens not to share sensitive details such as OTPs, passwords, or bank information under any circumstances.

In a video message posted on its official X account, the HEC stated that it never contacts individuals for payment attestation or requests confidential banking credentials. It emphasized that all official communication and services are conducted through its sole authorised website.

The HEC urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid engaging with suspicious calls or unofficial websites. It advised citizens to report any such activity to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the National Response Centre for Cyber Crime.
