Rescue, relief activities continue in flood-hit areas along Sutlej

LAHORE: Rescue and relief activities continue in the flood hit areas along the Sutlej River in District Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said on Saturday that there was medium level flood at Empress Bridge.

According to the Spokesman of District Administration Bahawalpur, 27 flood relief camps have been established in District Bahawalpur to provide relief to the flood affectees.

Similarly, Pakistan Army with the help of District Administration, Rescue 1122 and other institutions is carrying out rescue and relief activities in the flood hit areas of Bahawalnagar, Minchan Abad, Chishtian, Head Sulemanki, Mailsi, Pakpattan, Arfiwala and Burewala to evacuate flood affectees and their animals.

Pakistan Army has established free medical camps to provide treatment to the flood affectees and ration and free medicines are also being provided to them.
