IBA observes judicial boycott on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Bar Association (IBA) declared to observe strike and to stage protest on Wednesday against violence on court officials and lawyers during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s arrest from Islamabad High Court (IHC).

According to the official notification of IBA, Secretary of Islamabad Bar Association, Rizwan Shabbir Kiani, has announced a judicial boycott and demanded an investigation into the incidents of violence and vandalism at the registry branch of the High Court during former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan’s arrest.

Kiani warned the institutions that violate the Constitution of Pakistan to refrain from illegal actions, adding that the judiciary and lawyers are prepared to go to any extent to protect the Constitution and the rule of law.
