LHC moved against rise in petrol prices

LAHORE: The increase in the petroleum products’ prices has been challenged in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

A miscellaneous petition was filed by the Judicial Activism Panel against the rise in the prices of the petroleum products.

Sources learnt that the petition stated that instead of reducing the prices of the petroleum products in the country, they were increased by Rs35.

“The prices of the petroleum products have not been reduced in accordance with the global market,” it added.

It is to be noted here that the prices of petrol and diesel had been increased by Rs35 each per litre by the government on Sunday last.
