Mazari urges CJP to take suo motu on abuse of State power

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Dr. Shireen Mazari lashed out at the imported government and the state institution for violating constitution and said that the PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry didn’t commit sedition; therefore the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) should take suo moto on abuse of State power.

PTI Dr. Shireen Mazari, in a statement, on Monday that when the State institutions and government become complicit in terrorizing critics and political leaders and carry out violations of Constitution, fundamental rights and laws then nation looked to the CJP to take suo moto action. She asked: “Where else can we turn when the State itself violates the Constitution?”

Mazari stated that Munshis and their string pullers on a vicious vengeful course against Fawad Chaudhry because he called them out on their reality. “Now they are going to “search” the place where he and his family live in ICT,” she added.

She raised question that legally, he didn’t commit Sedition so why no suo moto by apex court on abuse of State power? “The way his judicial remand was reverted to physical remand and he was handed back to police (covertly to agencies as his whereabouts became unknown) shows clear mala fide intent to inflict custodial torture on him. Munshis and their string pullers ruthless,” Dr. Mazari maintained.

Condemning the suicide attack in Peshawar police lines mosque, she stated that the bomber could gain access to a central area of the provincial capital was sadly another Intelligence failure. “Our police are front line defenders against terrorists especially in urban areas and need better resources including equipment,” she added.
