Fawad criticises opposition for organising ‘rented show’ during Australia match

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry Sunday took the opposition to task for holding the protest against the government in Rawalpindi on March 23 when the Australian cricket team will be playing the third Test match of the tour.

In a tweet, Chaudhry said the team will be playing the first Test series against Australia in 23 years at home.

The whole nation was celebrating the revival of quality cricket in the country, but it was only the “hodgepodge” opposition that felt uncomfortable and planning a so-called power show on “rent”, he added.

It merits a mention here the first leg of the tour will begin on March 4 and the opposition has also planned a series of protests during the same time.
