Govt changes anti-Covid slogan after recommendations from CII

The slogan 'Corona waba hai, ehtiyaat jis ki shifa'a hai' shall be used from now onward

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony on Wednesday ordered that the anti-Covid slogan ‘Corona se darna nahi, larna hai‘ (Let’s fight Covid instead of being afraid of it) should be avoided for campaigns and reporting on print and social media.

In a notification, the ministry said, “Instead, the slogan ‘Corona waba hai, ehtiyaat jis ki shifa’a hai (Corona is a disease, whose cure is prevention) shall be used from now onward”.

According to a tweet of the ministry, the decision to change the slogan was made after the recommendations from the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII).

As of reporting time, Pakistan’s coronavirus positivity rate is 6.06 per cent with 2,351 new infections and 61 deaths in the past 24 hours. The total numbers of coronavirus cases and deaths in the country are 612,315 and 13,656 respectively.
