Punjab denies reports of blanket ban on tuition centres
Punjab authorities dismissed social media claims of a blanket ban on tuition centres. The government says it will regulate academies through registration and safety compliance—not shut them down.

LAHORE: The Punjab government has dismissed reports claiming that all tuition centres across the province are being shut down, calling the information misleading.
According to the provincial authorities, no blanket ban has been imposed on tuition academies or coaching centres. Instead, regulatory measures are being introduced to ensure that such institutions comply with relevant laws and safety standards.
Officials said tuition centres will be required to meet prescribed operational requirements, including registration and adherence to government regulations where applicable.
The clarification came after reports circulating on social media suggested that the government had decided to close all tuition centres, causing confusion among students, parents and academy owners.
Authorities urged the public to rely on official announcements and avoid sharing unverified information regarding education policies.
The government said its objective is to regulate the sector and improve standards rather than prohibit the operation of tuition centres across Punjab.
