'Do normal people get this treatment too?': Momina Iqbal lashes out over Chadhar's latest bail extension

"Power of MPA."

That's how Momina Iqbal reacted after a Lahore court extended the interim pre-arrest bail of PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar and his wife for yet another time.

The actor took to Instagram just hours after Thursday's hearing, where the couple's bail was extended until July 13, accusing the legal process of favouring those with political influence.

In a series of Instagram Stories, Momina questioned why the investigation appeared to be moving so slowly.

"Muje lagta tha inki sirf bhawana mai he chalti jahan FIR’s b ho jati, applications ho jati, humai wahan bulwane k liye," she wrote, alleging that complaints were repeatedly filed in Bhawana and that her team had been humiliated whenever they travelled there.

She went on to claim: "Jb hamary log jaty un k pechy gariyan b lagti, log baty karty."

Momina then posted another story carrying the caption: "VIDEO. POWER OF MPA, member of the parliament hone ka pura faida uthaya jata hai."

She also questioned why, despite the passage of time, the investigation had yet to meaningfully progress.

"Abi tak investigation mai join nae kiya jaa raha or dates par dates li jaa rahe haen," she wrote, before asking:

"Pochna yeh tha bs normal logon k cases foran hal hoty?? Matlb foran foran haal ho jaty?"

Although Momina did not mention Saqib Chadhar by name, the posts came immediately after the court hearing and appeared to reference the ongoing case.

Earlier in the day, Additional District and Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqi extended the interim pre-arrest bail of Chadhar and his wife, Samaira, directing both to join the investigation while ordering prosecutors to submit a progress report at the next hearing on July 13.

The dispute dates back to May, when Momina publicly alleged that she had been subjected to prolonged online harassment, cyberbullying and death threats by a PML-N lawmaker.

She later formally named Chadhar, accusing him of harassment, intimidation, cyberstalking and making threatening calls after she allegedly rejected his marriage proposal.

The case eventually led to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency registering an FIR against Chadhar under multiple sections of PECA and the Pakistan Penal Code.

Despite the registration of the case, Chadhar has remained on interim pre-arrest bail, with the relief now extended multiple times.
