Momina Iqbal appeals to CM Maryam Nawaz amid PML-N-linked death threats

Pakistani actor Momina Iqbal has sparked a major online storm after claiming she and her family are facing serious threats linked to a Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) associated Member of Provincial Assembly.

In a series of emotional Instagram stories, the actor alleged that she has been subjected to prolonged cyberbullying, online harassment, and life threats, which she says are being carried out by a politically connected individual.

Momina Iqbal further claimed that despite repeatedly approaching the FIA, NCCIA, and Punjab Police, no meaningful action was taken on her complaints. “Instead of ensuring justice, attempts have been made to suppress my complaints. Even individuals associated with the office of CM Maryam tried to discourage and silence the matter rather than allowing a fair investigation,” she said.

She alleged that instead of receiving protection, she was met with silence and pressure, and that the situation escalated further after she pursued legal action through official channels.

The actor also claimed that her family has now been drawn into the matter, with threats extending beyond her personal social media activity, intensifying her concerns for safety.

In her posts, she made a direct appeal for immediate intervention, urging authorities to ensure protection and launch an impartial investigation into the allegations.

She also called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to ensure fair action against anyone misusing influence or obstructing justice, saying she believed the chief minister "will take unbiased and lawful action against anyone found involved in abuse of power or obstruction of justice."

The claims have triggered widespread debate online, with users demanding clarity, investigation, and accountability over the allegations involving political connections and alleged misuse of power.
