Three lion cubs, fawn born at Bahawalpur Zoo

BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur Zoo has recorded the birth of three lion cubs and a fawn, with zoo officials saying both the newborn animals and their mothers are in good health.

Zoo Deputy Director Mujahid Kaleem confirmed the births and said veterinary doctors at the facility are monitoring and caring for the animals. According to official sources, the cubs and the fawn have been moved to a secure area away from visitors.

The zoo management plans to put the newborns on display after they grow a little older. The lion cubs were born to a lioness, while the fawn was born to a deer at the zoo the other day.

Bahawalpur Zoo has long been regarded as a leading facility for lion breeding in the country. In previous years, the zoo earned millions of rupees by selling adult lions to several other zoos across Punjab.
